Oklahoma FreeWheel 2009, June 7-13!
Welcome to OKFreeWheel on the web! 2009 will mark the 31st running of Oklahoma's premier bicycle touring event. Plan now to join over a thousand cyclists, support staff, and family members as they gather near the Texas-Oklahoma state line for the trek north to Kansas. We'll sample the best that small-town Oklahoma has to offer. Folks along the route share their communities with the throng of passing riders, providing food, entertainment, overnight accommodations, local history, and so much more!

Friday, July 4th, 2008	Stillwater, OK	Tour of Payne Stillwater's annual 4th of July Tour. The Tour of Payne is an organized bicycle ride offering 26, 36, 62, and 100 mile routes. It is sponsored by Stillwater's Red Dirt Pedalers Bicycle Club. An annual patriotic bicycle ride on various routes within Payne County. Participants are invited to the city's "Boomer Blast" celebration that evening.
Saturday, July 5th thru Sunday, July 27th 2008	Everywhere, France	Tour de France Running from Saturday July 5th to Sunday July 27th 2008, the 95th Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,500 kilometres.
Saturday, July 12th, 2008	Joplin, MO	Tornado Alley 110 The festival begins on July 11th with registration and get acquainted time The ride will be on Saturday with 3 routes, 30(ish) miles, 77(ish) and then the adventurous 110(ish) mile course through Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
Saturday, July 19th, 2008	Norman, OK	Norman Conquest The four supported routes for 2008 are the popular 10 mile family tour as well as routes of 26 hilly miles, 46 very hilly miles, and 66 extremely hilly miles. Be prepared for the distance, heat and the hills!
Saturday, July 19th, 2008	Altus, OK	Quartz Mountain Diamondback 100 This first annual event will benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) in Altus. Saturday, July 19th, 2008	Paris, TX	Tour de Paris A NEW Downtown Route has been added to the Tour De Paris this year! Routes will still start and finish at the Paris High School. 15, 47, 71, and 107 mile routes.
Saturday, July 26th, 2008	Duncan, OK	The 17th Annual Dehydrator The Dehydrator bicycle ride and race is an annual event hosted by the Duncan Band Boosters and the Duncan Bicycle Club. This event is one of the primary fundraisers for the Duncan Public Schools Band program. Last year nearly 500 riders participated in the Dehydrator.

Saturday, August 9th, 2008	Bethany, OK	Spin Your Wheels This non-competitive tour benefiting children with medical and physical disabilities at The Children's Center is hosted by members of the West Oklahoma City Rotary Club. Spin Your Wheels offers 12, 23, 50, 100K (62 mile), and 100 mile courses beginning at 7:30 a.m. on The Children's Center's front lawn, 6800 NW 39th Expressway in Bethany, just east of Rockwell.
Saturday, August 16th, 2008	Joplin, MO	6th Annual Philip J. Svitak Freedom Ride Proceeds provide bicycles at Christmas for children of military personnel deployed in war zones. Look for Denis hosting a rest stop!
Saturday, August 16th, 2008	Dallas, TX	Red Hot Chili Pepper Bike Rally We'll have ride distances for everyone, whether you're a mild pedaler, or a red-hot rider. Routes of 20, 40 and 60 miles offer something for everyone. All the routes will have well-stocked rest stops every 10 miles or so. The routes will travel southwest out of Dallas, and will journey through the Joe Pool Lake area. Rally start will be at 7:30AM from the Calumet Community Center.
Saturday, August 16th, 2008	Sherman, TX	Red River Bike Rally Sherman Kiwanis will host our 3rd annual Red River Bike Rally starting at Apple Stadium, Austin College on August 16, 2008. We have four routes planned east of Sherman in the beautiful North Texas country. The distances available are: 25, 40, 60, and 100 miles.
Saturday, August 23rd, 2008	Wichita Falls, TX	Hotter'N Hell The Hotter'N Hell Hundred is now the largest single day 100 mile bicycle ride in the nation - and possibly the world.
Saturday, August 30th, 2008	Enid, OK	Tour de Trykes To raise money for AmTrykes®, a therapeutic tricycle for children and adults with disabilities. 10, 22, 35, 55, 100 mile routes.
Saturday, August 30th, 2008	Pittsburg, KS	Gorilla Century Meander through numerous small towns in Crawford & Cherokee counties. As always, we have the best maps and a well-marked course with plenty of delicious reststops.
Saturday, September 6th, 2008	Pryor, OK	DAM J.A.M. DAM J.A.M. is Oklahoma's most scenic one-day bicycle tour. A fabulous fall family event, featuring fun rides of 30, 55, 71, or 101 miles!

Saturday, September 20th, 2008	Chickasha, OK	Survivor Ride The "Survivor Ride" is a bicycle ride for cycling enthusiasts of all age and abilities. All proceeds from this event go directly to the Children's Miracle Network and stay in the state of Oklahoma.

Interbike is the largest bicycle trade event in North America and one of the most important stops on the global trade show calendar.
Saturday, September 27th, 2008	Tulsa, OK	TBC Fall Century Tulsa Bicycle Club's annual fall century with routes from 10 to 100 miles. This ride is noted for great routes, friendly rest stops, and ever increasing attendance. Many Tulsa area cyclists have done their first century at this end of summer tour. Why don't you!

Saturday, Sept 27th, 2008	Shawnee, OK	Bison Bicycle Classic Bike Tour. 10, 25, and 62 mile routes. All proceeds for the weekend will go to Habitat for Humanity of Shawnee to build the Division of Music HFH House. This project will, in the near future, raise funds to build a complete home for the local HFH affiliate.
Saturday, September 27th, 2008	North Little Rock, AR	Big Dam Bridge 100 100, 85, 50, 32 & 12 mile distances available. Ride the longest pedestrian/bicycle bridge in the world designed for that purpose; 4226 feet long and up to 90 feet above the Arkansas River!
Saturday, September 27th, 2008	Arlington, TX	Parker Ride for Wellness Join us for the first annual Parker Ride for Wellness bike rally, part of a three-day health and wellness convention presented by Parker College of Chiropractic. Choose between a 22 mile, 32 mile, and 50 mile ride, beginning and ending at the Arlington Convention Center and traveling through the heart of Arlington and onto Kennendale and Mansfield.
Saturday, September 27th-28th, 2008	Fort Worth, TX	Lone Star Ride Fighting Aids Lone Star Ride is a two-day cycling adventure through scenic country roads and two great Texas cities. Our goal is to raise money to fight AIDS and support those affected by HIV/AIDS. For both riders and crewmembers, it's a great way to meet new friends and have a lot of fun while supporting a serious cause.
Saturday, Oct 4th, 2008	Claremore, OK	2nd Annual "Dickens of a Ride" Rides of 30, 50, 65, and 100 miles.The Dickens of a Ride supports the Claremore Main Street, Inc. The Main Street orgainization helps preserve the Claremore downtown historic district and revitalize the downtown through fund raising and other activities to bring awareness of what the down town businesses have to offer to the community.
